While the forced relocation of CEU teaching activities to Vienna and the Covid-related restrictions have made research hard in the past two years, Blinken OSA is happy to be able to offer special tools to overcome difficulties.
Apart from our unique archival holdings and growing digitally available collections, the Blinken OSA Research Room continues to offer access to 169 databases, which include both open source databases (such as arXiv, Europeana, and Fortepan) and subscriptions by CEU Library, often ensuring the sole access point to the content in Hungary.
Encyclopedia (Britannica Online, Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy) electronic books (Early English Books, Oxford Scholarship, Patrologia Latina), collections of articles and periodicals (Project MUSE, Sage Journals, ScienceDirect, Taylor & Francis Online, Wiley Online Library), theses, studies, documentary films (Kanopy, The Film Platform Collection), historical, diplomatic, and legal sources (Cold War Eastern Europe), as well as a plenitude of statistical data not only in social but also in natural sciences and humanities, from medieval studies to physics.
Databases A-Z is freely available for Hungarian researchers, teachers, professors, and university students in the Blinken OSA Research Room.
Our reference staff is happy to help navigate the databases, explore their specifics, and develop search strategies.
