On May 2, 2017, Central European University President and Rector Michael Ignatieff and High Representative Valentin Inzko signed an Addendum to the Public Archive Agreement between CEU and the Office of the High Representative (OHR) in Sarajevo, the ad hoc international institution responsible for overseeing the implementation of civilian aspects of the 1995 Dayton Peace Accords. The Addendum stipulates that beyond the public records covered in the original Agreement, Blinken OSA will preserve and publish online—after a determined closure period—politically sensitive documents of persistent historical value created and maintained by OHR.
OHR’s documents will be put in context within Blinken OSA’s own records gathered in the Yugoslavia Archive Project, currently under development, and serve the research interests of a constituency specialized on or coming from the region, not least the over 200 students from Southeastern Europe enrolled at the Central European University annually.
