Hungarian Home Movies

Around 500 hours of amateur home videos shot by Hungarian citizens between 1925 and 1985 on 8 mm film, mostly recorded in Hungary, with some footage from central and western Europe. The films document people's everyday lives - children, family holidays and celebrations - as well as some public, historic events as seen through private eyes, including the 1956 Hungarian revolution.
