Every building is interesting - Budapest 100, 2020
Similarly to previous years, OSA hosted the Budapest100 volunteer meeting. The voluntary researchers and organizers of the two-day festival are introduced to each other and their future tasks here, in the Goldberger House. Organized by the Hungarian Contemporary Architecture Centre, Budapest100 is a festival celebrating both the architectural heritage and the local communities of Budapest.
Besides its philosophy and openness, the festival is also linked to OSA by its history. OSA operates in the Goldberger House, it was the 100th anniversary of this building that inspired the colleagues of the archives to celebrate the birthday of every 100-year-old building in Budapest. Ever since, owing to the Hungarian Contemporary Architecture Centre, houses join the event by opening their gates to visitors (with residents organizing exhibitions, concerts); at the same time, neighbors gradually become real communities. A grassroots urban festival every local can be proud of.
In 2020, Budapest100 itself has arrived to a milestone. The 10th edition/occasion of the festival, between May 9 and 10, will focus on residential communities. To celebrate the anniversary, the organizers invite every house in Budapest to join, including those that had already taken part before. Houses can apply to the program until January 31.
